September 9, 2926 Second Workshop of the Department of Economics AI Faculty Community, Fall Semester 2026

This is a hands-on workshop, not a lecture. You will not need to memorize any commands or use a terminal during the workshop. Simply communicate with the AI assistant, and it will help you carry out the necessary operations. Your role is to understand what the AI is doing and know when to stop or correct it if necessary.

For international participants, English workshop materials are available. Please complete the pre-workshop setup in advance. Creating the necessary accounts and installing the required software will take approximately 40 minutes to one hour, or possibly longer depending on your internet connection. Before the workshop, please complete the “Pre-Workshop Preparation” on the following webpage. We recommend that you do not wait until the night before the workshop to complete the setup:

Pre-Workshop Preparation (English)

The workshop will be conducted in Chinese. However, international participants may follow along using the English workshop materials and communicate with the AI assistant in English or their preferred language.

If you encounter any problems, there is no need to struggle on your own. The workshop materials will show you how to share error messages or screenshots with AI and ask for help. If you are still unable to resolve the problem, please arrive at the classroom 20 minutes early on the day of the workshop, and we will help you complete the setup before the workshop begins.

If there is anything in the materials that you find difficult to understand, please feel free to let Mr. Chen know directly. Your feedback will help improve the workshop materials.

All exercises in the workshop will use simulated data. Please do not upload students’ personal information or unpublished research data.

Please bring your laptop, laptop charger, and mobile phone. You will need your phone to scan QR codes for classroom activities and for account login verification.

If you use a MacBook, please install Chrome or Edge in advance, as some webpages used during the workshop are not supported by Safari.
