Master's Program in Economics ∣ Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must have graduated with a bachelor's degree from a public or private university or college in Taiwan recognized by the Ministry of Education, or from a foreign university or college that meets the Ministry of Education's recognition requirements; be a graduating student in a bachelor's degree program; or possess equivalent educational qualifications for admission to a university master's program.

2. Applicants qualifying under Article 7 of the Standards for Recognition of Equivalent Educational Level for University Admission as "individuals with outstanding achievements in their professional fields" are not eligible for admission.

Doctoral Program in Economics ∣ Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must have graduated with a master's degree from a public or private university or college in Taiwan recognized by the Ministry of Education, or from a foreign university or college that meets the Ministry of Education's recognition requirements; be a graduating student in a master's degree program; or possess equivalent educational qualifications for admission to a university master's program.

Required documents: Undergraduate academic transcript (including department/class ranking or percentile), résumé and autobiography, study plan, and other supporting materials that may assist in the application review.

Doctoral Program in Economics ∣ Admission Quota and Required Documents

1 student (up to 1 applicant may be admitted directly without the second-stage screening)

Required documents: One copy each of complete undergraduate and master's academic transcripts, relevant research publications, research proposal, résumé, and proof of academic qualifications; and two letters of recommendation.

★Scholarships and Financial Support for Master's and Doctoral Students at NDHU

Department of Economics Scholarships

Master's Program Scholarship: Available to students admitted to and enrolled in the Master's Program in Economics through recommendation and screening or entrance examination, as well as domestic students whose cumulative academic performance in the master's program ranks among the top three in their class or the top 30%, whichever criterion results in the smaller number of eligible students.

Doctoral Program Scholarship: NT$3,000 per month. Please refer to the Department's Scholarship Regulations for detailed requirements.

National Dong Hwa University Department of Economics Regulations Governing Teaching Assistant (TA) Grants and Part-Time Work Allowances: Master's students may apply for teaching assistant positions.

Undergraduate students may take graduate-level courses in advance. If a student earns a passing grade based on the standards of the master's program and the course credits are not counted toward the student's undergraduate graduation requirements, the credits may be transferred and counted toward the graduate degree after admission to the graduate program, thereby reducing credit fees!
